Lindsey R. Buckman, PsyD, was awarded a Presidential Citation for her outstanding contributions to advocacy and to the practice of psychology, exemplifying the best qualities of early career psychologists (ECPs).

A shining example of the importance and value of our ECPs, Buckman has a thriving independent practice and also works for a foundation running a private scholarship program that focuses on first generation college students at the three Arizona public universities. Buckman has been outstanding in her leadership roles as the early career member of the American Psychological Association Practice Organization Committee for the Advancement of Professional Psychology, chair of the Early Career Psychologist Task Force of Div. 31 (the State, Provincial and Territorial Psychological Association Affairs), and the diversity co-chair for Div. 42 (Psychologists in Independent Practice). She was also chair of the Legislative Committee and the Leadership Development Committee for the Arizona Psychological Association. Buckman received the Early Career Psychologist of the Year Award from the Arizona Psychological Foundation for her exceptional achievements in advocacy. Buckman has contributed numerous presentations on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer issues, advocacy and clinical practice, and is paving the way for students and other ECPs to have access to leadership opportunities. Buckman is devoted to creating a stronger future for psychology and a strong present for our new professionals.
