This Presidential Citation is awarded to Nanci Klein, PhD. Klein has been a visible presence at many State Leadership Conferences and Practice Leadership Conferences in her role as government relations grassroots field coordinator. In addition, she is one of the longest serving directors of professional affairs for the Utah Psychological Association.
Klein has served psychology locally, statewide and nationally as a clinician, educator and advocate. She served the Salt Lake City community as a clinician for over 30 years. As the Utah Psychological Association director of professional affairs, she has been tireless in her efforts to promote and oversee the successful passage of legislation for mental health parity, psychology practice, licensing board independence, the recognition of postdoctoral psychology residents as credentialed professionals, and interstate practice through PsyPACT. As an educator she mentored the next generation of psychologists. She promoted the national psychology agenda as an APA Practice Organization government relations field coordinator, a trustee of the former psychology national PAC, the Association for the Advancement of Psychology and vice-chair of the Committee for the Advancement of Professional Psychology.
I am pleased to present this Presidential citation to recognize the great and multifaceted contributions Klein has made to psychology.
