The APA Psychology Teachers at Community Colleges Committee (PT@CC) was awarded a Presidential Citation for leadership in supporting the association's strategic goals of maximizing organizational effectiveness and promoting psychological science.
On the occasion of the 2014 fall consolidated meetings, the PT@CC is recognized for its leadership in supporting the association's strategic goals of maximizing organizational effectiveness and promoting psychological science. PT@CC’s efforts to promote undergraduate education in psychology in its broadest context by collaborating to establish a new committee in place of PT@CC is commendable. This action has resulted in the newly formed Committee on Associate and Baccalaureate Education (CABE), which was approved by council in August 2014. Since 2001, PT@CC has educated the association and its members about educational issues that are unique to community colleges, institutions that are serving almost one-half of students in higher education. In the future, CABE will continue this mission by advancing undergraduate education in psychology in 2- and 4-year colleges and universities. We congratulate PT@CC for its impressive accomplishments over the last decade. We look forward to partnering with CABE on behalf of undergraduate programs, faculty and students.
