Saldin Kimangale, MSc, is presented with this Presidential Citation for his outstanding commitment to collaboration in leadership, training, and research with APA.

Kimangale volunteered to host the 2019 International Learning Partner Program (ILPP) to Tanzania where he introduced professionals from the U.S. and Canada to psychological science and practice in clinical and scientific settings in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Subsequent to meeting Eva Feindler, PhD, the Long Island University (LIU) PsyD program director as part of the ILPP, Kimangale dedicated over three years meeting with APA members in order to co-develop a long-term, interactive training initiative between the Tanzanian Association of Psychologists and LIU.

Since that time, approximately 27 U.S. doctoral students and 35 Tanzanian counseling psychologists have jointly presented papers at conferences and gained expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy evidence-based treatments through a cultural lens. In addition, Kimangale actively participates in the Global Psychology Alliance leadership program, has served as an expert panelist for an APA event on global conceptualizations of depression, and has published research in APA journals with ILPP colleagues.

For his unparalleled commitment to advancing psychological science and practice in Tanzania and the United States in a truly collaborative manner, this Presidential Citation is awarded to Saldin Kimangale.
