In June 2026, APA's Public Interest Office and Board for the Advancement of Psychology in Public Interest (BAPPI) established a task force to revise the 2017 Multicultural Guidelines: An Ecological Approach to Context, Identity, and Intersectionality into a third edition. The task force is reviewing current research, theory, and practice to guide the revision. The updated guidelines will help practitioners apply multicultural knowledge to psychological work with individuals, families, groups, and communities. The revised guidelines are planned for submission to the APA Council of Representatives in August 2027.
