In June 2020, APA’s Board of Educational Affairs approved a task force to update the recommendations from the 2012 Ethnic and Racial Disparities in Education report. The task force identified four areas to consider in their report:
- racism and bias and their role in creating educational disparities
- disparities at the intersection between race and disability
- discipline disparities and school pathways to the juvenile justice system
- racial/ethnic mismatch between the educator workforce and school-age population
This report shares updated research and provides recommendations for research, practice, advocacy, and educator preparation.
