The goal of this research is to answer two primary questions about smoking and comorbid psychiatric disorders: whether smokers with psychiatric diagnoses have less success with quitting smoking than smokers without such diagnoses and whether smokers with psychiatric diagnoses report different levels of nicotine dependence motives than do smokers without such comorbid diagnoses.
