Consistent with CoA's provisions for accreditation of postdoctoral residency training programs as described by IR C-11(b): Postdoctoral Residency Substantive Specialty Practice Areas, the Commission endorsed geropsychology as a specialty area. Geropsychology now joins the existing endorsed postdoctoral specialty practice areas of:
-
Behavioral and cognitive psychology
-
Clinical child psychology
-
Clinical health psychology
-
Family psychology
-
Forensic psychology
-
Rehabilitation psychology
As a reminder, "substantive specialty practice areas" are only relevant to postdoctoral residency training programs and are not applicable to the doctoral or internship levels of training.
