The Commission on Accreditation (CoA) held its spring program review meeting March 19-22, 2015, in Washington, D.C.
- A total of 69 doctoral, internship and postdoctoral residency programs were reviewed for either initial or continued accreditation.
- Fourteen applicant programs were granted a site visit.
- Five program status requests were reviewed (e.g., “Accredited, inactive” status for a training year).
As a result of these decisions, CoA is pleased to announce that it now has 1,001 accredited programs.
Decisions made at the meeting are available online. Complete listings of accredited and applicant programs were updated on April 22, 2015, to reflect the actions taken at the March meeting.
During the March 2015 meeting, CoA reviewed Implementing Regulation (IR) C-6(b): Accreditation Status and CoA Contact Information to ensure compliance with revisions made to the Accreditation Operating Procedures (AOP) in 2012. The 2012 revisions introduced procedures for internship and postdoctoral residency programs to seek and obtain “accredited, on contingency” status. Since then, eight programs have been granted this accreditation status. The newly approved IR C-6(b) allows these programs and future “accredited, on contingency” programs to identify this status in their public material.
