Abbreviated curriculum vitae (CVs) for faculty and staff have traditionally been used by the Commission on Accreditation (CoA) to identify and evaluate the total faculty and staff contribution to programs in accreditation reviews. To simplify an arduous process for self-study writers and to streamline self-study analyses for reviewers, the CoA has modified self-study requirements at all three levels of training related to required CVs after considering feedback from programs, accreditation staff, site visitors and commissioners.
Programs will no longer be required to create and upload individual abbreviated CVs for faculty and staff in their self-studies in the CoA Portal. Programs will instead be required to complete Tables 14.a-c (doctoral), Tables 9.a-c (internship), or Tables 8.a-c (postdoctoral) which have all been expanded to include the information formerly requested in the CV templates (e.g., educational history, licensure and diplomate status, definition of role in program). In so doing, the CoA has sought to consolidate all information into a more digestible and broadly-representative snapshot of a program’s faculty/staff allocation.
In addition to these tables, programs at all three levels will be able to provide supplemental Professional Activities Templates for those faculty and staff who have received honors and recognitions (including research grants or contracts) and for those who have engaged in professional presentations, publications and other activities.
Revised tables and Professional Activities Templates can be found on the CoA’s website. These changes will go into effect for programs submitting self-studies for site visits in 2019.
