Each year in the Annual Report Online (ARO), programs must sign an attestation that summarizes key components of the Standards of Accreditation for Health Service Psychology (SoA)opens in new window (PDF, 1.23MB) and the related Section C Implementing Regulations (IRs). CoA designed the attestation to give programs the opportunity to affirm that they are operating in a manner that is consistent with all accreditation requirements. Programs must report at the same time on any substantive changes that they or their sponsoring institutions may be undergoing. CoA considers responses to the attestation when carrying out the annual reaffirmation of programs’ accreditation at each fall’s program review meeting.
In 2018, the attestation has been updated to include several areas of focus that CoA has identified as programs continue adjusting to the SoA, which came into effect on Jan. 1, 2017. The revised attestation requires that:
- Doctoral programs affirm that required IR C-26 D public disclosure data have been published.
- Internship programs affirm that required supervision is provided in accordance with IR C-14 I.
- Postdoctoral programs affirm that required supervision is provided in accordance with IR C-14 P.
- Programs at all three (3) levels of training must confirm that they make systematic, long-term, and coherent efforts to recruit and retain diverse faculty and/or staff. Doctoral programs must engage in efforts to recruit and retain diverse students, and internships and residencies must engage in efforts to recruit diverse trainees (i.e., interns and residents).
ARO data entry preparation sheets and reliability check tip sheets, along with other resources are available on CoA’s website. The 2018 ARO opened on May 7, 2018, and remain open until Sept. 17, 2018. For questions about the ARO during this period, email or call (202) 336-5979.
