Each year in the Annual Report Online (ARO), programs must sign an attestation that summarizes key components of the Standards of Accreditation for Health Service Psychology (SoA) (PDF, 780B)opens in new window and the related Section C Implementing Regulations (IRs) (PDF, 990KB)opens in new window. The CoA designed the attestation to give programs the opportunity to affirm that they are operating in a manner that is consistent with all accreditation requirements. Programs must report at the same time on any substantive changes that they or their sponsoring institutions may be undergoing. The CoA considers responses to the attestation when carrying out the annual reaffirmation of programs’ accreditation at each fall’s program review meeting.
In 2020, the revised attestation requires that:
- Programs at all three levels of training must confirm that they are prepared to report any substantive changes in how the program has complied with the SoA due to COVID-19.
- Programs at all three levels of training must confirm that they require students, trainees, or staff (faculty) to comply with specific policies, such as, but not limited to admissions, hiring, retention policies, and/or requirements for completion that are distinct from those that would be reasonable to assume that an applicant would know of programs, universities, and institutions that provide education and training in HSP.
Note that the CoA is not requesting that programs add substantive changes now. Rather, we ask that programs track these changes and be prepared to report them at a time that will be determined based on the course of the pandemic.
ARO data entry preparation sheets and reliability check tip sheets, along with other resources are available on the Office of Program Consultation and Accreditation’s website. The 2020 ARO opened on May 4, 2020, and will remain open until Sept. 14, 2020. For questions about the ARO during this period, please email.
