The Commission on Accreditation has extended its definition of temporary changes as short-term program modifications implemented to minimize covid-19 exposure to be in effect through December 31, 2022. On an on-going basis, the CoA will evaluate whether flexibility in the expanded use of distance practices and other covid-19 related program changes may be appropriate beyond December 31, 2022 and will provide updates to programs about such developments.
In-person site visits will begin for applicant programs that are scheduled for the fall 2022 cycle (September–December 2022). Virtual site visits are extended for accredited programs undergoing periodic review for continued accreditation during the fall 2022 cycle. The CoA will review the status of covid- 19 guidance in fall 2022 to determine if on-site visits will resume for all programs in January 2023.
