The Commission on Accreditation (CoA) held its annual new member orientation and policy meeting from January 31–February 3, 2024. Seven new commissioners have joined the CoA this year:
Rachel Chickerella, PhD, joins the CoA as a special appointment. She is currently at Antioch University, New England. She completed her PhD in counseling psychology at the University of Massachusetts.
Maria Teresa Couthino, PhD, joins the CoA in a seat nominated by the APA Board for the Advancement of Psychology in the Public Interest (BAPPI). She is currently a clinical associate professor at Boston University. She completed her PhD in clinical psychology at Boston College.
Angélica Díaz-Martínez, PsyD, joins the CoA as a special appointment. She is currently the director of clinical training and professor at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. She completed her PsyD in clinical psychology at Rutgers University.
Matthew Grilli, PhD, joins the CoA in a seat nominated by the Academy of Psychological Clinical Science (APCS). He is currently an associate professor at the University of Arizona. He completed his PhD in clinical psychology at the University of Arizona.
Aida Jiménez, PhD, joins the CoA in a seat nominated by the APA Commission on Accreditation (CoA). She is currently a professor and clinical training director at the University of Puerto Rico. She completed her PhD in clinical psychology at the University of Puerto Rico.
Bek Urban, joins the CoA in a seat nominated by the American Psychological Association of Graduate Students (APAGS). She is currently completing her doctoral degree in counseling psychology at Oklahoma State University.
Jerrold Yeo, PsyD, joins the CoA as a special appointment. He is currently working in private practice in Pennsylvania. He completed his PsyD in clinical psychology at the University of Denver.
The CoA is excited to welcome these seven new members!
The CoA is comprised of at least 32 members and care is taken to maintain a diverse balance between academic institutions and programs, practitioners, and the publics served by accreditation.
