At its meeting held from Oct. 17-20, 2019, the American Psychological Association’s Commission on Accreditation reviewed a substantive change notice from the accredited internship program, Community Counseling Center. Based on the Executive Committee of the CoA review, it was determined that the program was not operating in accordance with the Standards of Accreditation for Health Service Psychology (SoA). Consequently, correspondence was sent to the program with a notification of this non-compliance. Under Section 8.7 I of the Accreditation Operating Procedures (AOP), the program was given a 30-day timeline to respond prior to this correspondence. Upon review of the program’s response and materials received on Nov. 27, 2019, the CoA voted to revoke the program’s accredited status effective Feb. 28, 2020.

1In accordance with Section 2., Appeal of a Decision, as outlined in the Accreditation Operating Procedures of the Commission on Accreditation (AOP), this decision is being made public although it is not yet considered final. This program has 30 days from receipt of the decision letter to appeal the adverse decision. The adverse decision is not considered final until (1) 30 days after the program is notified of the decision and the program elects not to appeal, or (2) if the program elects to appeal the decision, after receipt of the appeal panel report if the appeal panel upholds the CoA’s decision.
