The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) in Bethesda, Maryland offers some exciting opportunities for high school, college, graduate and professional students. Sponsored by the Office of Fellowship Training, there are many programs for high school and college students who are interested in biomedical research training.

Summer Internship Program
Eligible high school and college students can apply to spend eight to ten weeks in the summer working with NIH scientists on biomedical research. Applications will be available in mid-November. Postbaccalaureate Fellowships
The postbaccalaureate intramural research and training programopens in new window is for recent college graduates. Students are provided with an opportunity to participate in biomedical research training in an NIMH lab for one to two years. This program provides an excellent foundation for students who are planning for graduate or professional training.
