APA has produced a video for educators detailing a new “Mind Over Misinformation” module series. These modules, designed for use in high school and college courses, offer a free, evidence-based interactive learning series that uses psychological science to explore why our minds are vulnerable to false information, how cognitive biases and social dynamics play a role in misinformation, and strategies that can help us think more critically and protect ourselves. You can access the modules onlineopens in new window.
These flexible modules fit seamlessly into the psychology classroom, and could fit into other courses too (e.g., history, English, media studies, science, civics, etc.). Each one features real-world examples, interactive activities, and short quizzes to help students apply what they’ve learned. We hope you will consider using these with your students and sharing them with colleagues at your school.
