As the end of the year approaches, Psi Alpha continues to grow and evolve. There are now 122 active chapters and 5,441 members in six different countries.

Leadership changes

Psi Alpha’s director of operations, Kristen Frederico, has been an incredible part of the team for years. However, she recently accepted a new opportunity, and although all of us at Psi Alpha are saddened to see her go, we are excited to support her growth into the next chapter of her life. Kristen shares with us a farewell: “Working with the team at Psi Alpha has been incredibly inspiring over the last 5 years and the growth the organization has seen as a whole is staggering! It has been exciting to watch Psi Alpha charter chapters in every region of the United States and beyond. One of the most uplifting experiences I have been a part of at Psi Alpha is watching the endless flow of ideas and initiatives proposed and being a part of watching them come to life. The students of Psi Alpha are the future of psychology, and it is an honor to have been a part of this organization’s development up to this point. I am excited to see where the organization goes next and am so grateful for the opportunity to play a part in some of the initial successes.” Congratulations, Kristen!

New video series

Last year, a generous grant from the American Psychological Foundation (APF) to Psi Alpha and the Fordham Institute for Research, Service and Teaching led to the creation of videos on promoting excellence in high school student research. This 10-video seriesopens in new window can be found on Psi Alpha’s YouTube channel. These videos were created by experts and students in the field of psychology. They discuss how a student can become engaged in research, as well as the benefits that this engagement can bring. As high school student psychology research continues to grow, the goal of this video series is to educate students interested in conducting their own research about resources available to them. Within the video descriptions, viewers can access a link to a five-question survey to provide data on viewers’ opinions and questions about the videos. Completing this survey will help Psi Alpha understand some of the questions that student researchers have which can help to guide the development of future resources. Please consider viewing these videos and completing the surveys.

Psi Alpha's social media is also currently highlighting each of the APF videos. The speakers from each video are introduced, as well as a summary of the content of their video.
