Five thousand five hundred and eighty-nine members! Psi Alpha International Honor Society for High School Psychology is growing and evolving by the day. The team is working hard on developing new research, creating new resources to advance the science of psychology, and keeping advisors and students connected and up-to-date through social media.
Psi Alpha and Dr. Bernstein’s collaborative research project focused on discovering the beliefs of high school psychology teachers and misconceptions that may be being shared in the classroom is still underway. Psi Alpha advisors were sent a well-constructed survey to be completed. If you are a Psi Alpha advisor who has not yet completed this survey, please consider taking a few moments to complete it now through the link that was provided via email.
Following a lot of hard work, two members of the Psi Alpha team—Nevin and Jacob—have developed a new tool known as the Psychology Honor Societies Collaboration Map. This interactive map displays the location, name of institution, name of advisor, and honor society affiliation for all Psi Alpha, Psi Beta, and Psi Chi chapters. The map will be beneficial for all members of psychology honor societies, providing them with information to aid students in joining and transferring between honors societies throughout their academic journey. It also offers the opportunity for collaboration between chapters that are within close proximity and broadens mentorship opportunities for students interested in conducting research. For access to the map, please contact Research. The Psychology Honor Societies Collaboration Map will be available to access on Psi Alpha’s website in the future.
Psi Alpha members also recently finished a 10-post campaign highlighting a YouTube video series on promoting excellence in high school student research, which was funded by the American Psychological Foundation. Keep an eye out for important updates and fun facts to be shared on all Psi Alpha social media platforms in the future.
