The American Psychological Association Teachers of Psychology in Secondary Schools (TOPSS) is the voice of high school psychology teachers within the APA. One of the most important opportunities APA and TOPSS provide high school teachers is the ability to connect with teachers at a local level.

TOPSS maintains a listing of professional development opportunities for high school psychology teachers, which includes regional networks for teachers. Please note that any group using a “TOPSS” name is not formally affiliated with APA. Since TOPSS is a trademarked name, any state, local or regional group of high school psychology teachers that uses “TOPSS” must first complete this form (PDF, 339KB)opens in new window and return it to TOPSS.

The APF High School Psychology Outreach Grants encourage and support the development of new networks of teachers in areas currently lacking such groups. Our guide Building, Guiding, and Sustaining Regional Networks for Psychology Teachersopens in new window (PDF, 111KB) outlines benefits of regional networks, a "how to" starter kit, model formats and suggestions for overcoming obstacles.
