Filing a complaint against an APA-approved sponsor.

If you have a complaint that you believe violates the Standards and Criteria for Approval of Sponsors of Continuing Education for Psychologistsopens in new window (PDF, 316KB) or otherwise warrants attention, we suggest that you:

  1. Review the complaint procedures within the Policies and Procedures Manualopens in new window (PDF, 101KB).
  2. Contact the APA-approved sponsoring organization directly. If your complaint is not given the attention you feel it deserves at the sponsor level, then proceed to CESA.
  3. File a complaint with the Office of CE Sponsor Approval (CESA). Complaint forms should include sufficient details, including which of the standards you believe were violated.

The APA's Office of CE Sponsor Approval staff will review the complaint and the sponsor's reply and attempt to resolve any concerns with the sponsor. If the complaint cannot be resolved at this level, CESA staff will then refer the complaint to members of the Continuing Education Committee designated to review complaints.
