Description
Why do some people use alcohol and other drugs, but never develop a substance use disorder? What "causes" addiction? And why do some people cease problematic substance use whereas others do not? The answers to these complicated questions will be explored in this program. This program, presented by Jennifer Read, PhD, and hosted Bruce Liese, PhD, focuses on some of the psychological, biological and environmental factors that have been linked to the development of substance use disorders, and to understand the challenges of living with addiction. Finally, the program discusses the process of recovery and some of the factors that may help facilitate successful resolution of substance misuse.
