Description
Graduate training often prepares students with general skills. Yet the communities in which mental health professionals work often have specific needs that cannot be adequately addressed by the “generalist.” Additionally, there are segments of the community that are underserved and those that may need a more organized and tailored approach to facilitate gains and positively address well-being.
This program will focus on how one can build a niche practice, either as a stand-alone practice or subsumed within a more general mental health practice. Using an interview format, supported with slides, we will also focus on how collaborating with other professionals who are not mental health clinicians can lead to building service delivery paradigms that add both breadth and depth to service delivery for the clients, the community and especially the underserved. Additionally, the need for obtaining appropriate training and mentoring will be addressed.
Webinars are converted to video on-demand programs with closed captioning after the live air date
