Description
The proliferation of online recordkeeping services compounded by the impact of the pandemic on practice has led to new challenges in recordkeeping, protecting privacy and compliance with related regulations. Many mental health professionals are now using telehealth services and practicing in multiple states. They even may be subject to conflicting regulations due to different jurisdictional requirements.
This program will focus on key factors to consider whether practitioners are keeping paper or electronic records. Using an interview format, supported by slides, two experts will be interviewed. The importance of seeking up-to-date information about regulations will be emphasized, as will options for obtaining such information. Examples of clinical situations that can unknowingly lead to breaches in privacy will be discussed to help heighten understanding of these challenges and steps mental health professionals can take to avoid such errors and the related breaches in the professional relationship with clients. Steps to address unintended disclosures and repair related fractures in the clinical relationship will be addressed.
Webinars are converted to video on-demand programs with closed captioning after the live air date
