Description
Providing mental health services in today’s healthcare environment is complex given the requirements of regulatory agencies and insurance companies coupled with the impact of technology and the impacts of the pandemic on practice. Mental health professionals cannot simply have a “cottage industry” where they see patients, collect a fee, and write a brief note in a paper record. Electronic health records, billing processes, legal and regulatory policies, and requirements of insurance companies all add complications. Telehealth has redefined the practice environment to be one that is primarily away from two people sitting together in a closed space with completely secure boundaries. Furthermore, as a practice grows, administrative staff often need to be recruited or outsourced and then managed. Clinical staff may also be needed and then added to the administrative demands and challenges for excellence.
Using an interview format, supported by slides, this presentation will focus on principles and processes for managing administrative tasks, clinical service delivery, and staff. Best practices for assessing outsourcing opportunities and developing such relationships will also be addressed. Emphasis will be placed on effective clinical and administrative management of ethical, legal and regulatory requirements to provide high-quality service delivery to the community.
Webinars are converted to video on-demand programs with closed captioning after the live air date
