Description
While states grant the ability for mental health professionals to provide clinical services independently, they do not assure continued skill acquisition and quality of service delivery. Ethical principles speak to the importance of practicing within one’s scope of expertise; however, even so, the significant demands on mental health professionals cannot simply be addressed by one’s training. Clinical skills development needs to be ongoing. Yet, many professionals and independent practices do not build in methodologies to support excellence in service delivery, even if that is a stated value or aspirational goal of the organization.
This presentation will address how clinical excellence can be better assured so that it is more than an aspirational statement of the individual clinician or service delivery organization.
Using an interview format, supported by slides, two experts will be interviewed. More specifically, this presentation will focus on options and challenges of providing clinical supervision and mentorship beyond the graduate training environment, and enhancing clinical skills and strategies for promoting clinical excellence in service delivery.
Webinars are converted to video on-demand programs with closed captioning after the live air date.
