Description
In this program, psychologist Jeff Zimmerman, PhD, ABPP, will be joined by a practice management consultant who will discuss common pitfalls made by mental health professionals, how practice management consultants can help in a preventative manner, and important, but often overlooked, reasons for seeking consultation. Ways to find and engage practice management consultants will also be addressed.
More specifically, the program will address the following:
- How a practice management consultant can help address a multitude of practice issues from strategic planning to ethical marketing, as well as administrative and financial planning.
- How this type of consultation is different from legal, accounting, and risk management consultation.
- How practice management consultation can help address clinical issues before they reach a more acute level (e.g., dealing with no-shows and cancellations effectively, avoiding high accounts receivables, setting up systems for measuring quality and outcomes, etc.) and can negatively impact patient care and the sustainability of the practice.
This program is part of the series Building and Sustaining a Thriving Private Practice: When to Call in Outside Help.
For NY psychologists: This program does not meet NYSED CE requirements.
