Description
This webinar explores how lifestyle medicine—an evidence-based component of functional medicine—can be used by psychologists to downregulate the cell danger response, a chronic cellular stress state linked to trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions. Lifestyle interventions, including nutrition, sleep, movement, stress management, and targeted supplements are all within the scope of psychological practice when used to support behavioral change and nervous system regulation. Integrating these tools into psychotherapy can address root causes of dysfunction, enhance emotional resilience, and improve treatment outcomes. Attendees will gain practical strategies to complement traditional talk therapy with whole-person, lifestyle-based care.
Learning objectives
- Define the cell danger response and its impact on chronic psychological and physiological conditions.
- Discuss how lifestyle medicine modalities, including diet, rest, exercise, stress management, and targeted supplements can support cellular healing to improve mental health therapeutic outcomes.
