Description
This workshop is designed for stakeholders and practitioners working with patients who have been exposed to life-threatening or traumatic events and who develop posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). PTSD is one of the most prevalent of all psychological disorders and is being more readily recognized in clinical practices worldwide. Participants will learn contemporary methods for understanding, evaluating, and treating this debilitating condition. Often accompanied by other diagnostic comorbidities, research on PTSD has advanced rapidly in the short time since its recognition in the diagnostic nomenclature. Today, there are novel treatments and novel treatment delivery systems to help people with PTSD recover. This workshop will cover the many new directions the treatment of PTSD is taking to increase access and effectiveness of these new approaches.
