Description
During this webinar, Sheila A.M. Rauch, PhD, ABPP, expands on the book of the same title that she authored with Carmen McLean, PhD, to provide a bridge for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) clinicians between neuroscience research on PTSD and the PTSD clinic patients they see on a day-to-day basis. Rauch and McLean focus in on some of the most established findings from neuroscience and how they can inform practice with Prolonged Exposure for PTSD today and in the future. Attendees will have an enhanced understanding of how effective PTSD treatment works and how to improve patient response and outcomes through increased retention, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Learning objectives
- List two necessary characteristics for therapeutic exposure in PTSD treatment (i.e., activation of the trauma memory and presence of corrective information).
- Consider multiple ways to augment or modify PTSD treatment for slow or non-responders during prolonged exposure.
