Description
Psychology is still in the early stages of understanding how to best bring racial, cultural, and identity factors into supervision and the supervisory relations. Many supervisors practice supervision in the way that they were supervised. This article discusses practical ways that supervisors can bring ideals like critical consciousness and cultural humility into their work with supervisees, describes the general state of the field in adopting new approaches, and identifies aspects of the supervisor-supervisee relationship that hold space for improvement.
