Description

It is common for a client to report they feel down or sad, but if these symptoms and others are present for a significant amount of time or are interfering with their activities of daily living or other aspects of their lives, they could be dealing with one of the depressive disorders. There are a number of different depressive disorders that can manifest in a variety of ways and be caused by events in one’s life, chemical changes in the brain, or other factors.

This course consists of a variety of videos that cover various client caseloads. Each client will present symptoms and behaviors that suggests a depressive disorder diagnosis. Focusing on how they act and what they are presenting, will provide the information necessary to form a conclusion as to which disorder they are dealing with. Throughout this course, refer to a copy of the DSM-5-TR as needed to help determine appropriate diagnosis.
