Description
For over a century, pathological lying has been recognized among prominent professionals. In 1890 the American Psychologist G. Stanley Hall wrote about pathological lying. However, pathological lying is not currently recognized as a diagnostic entity today, which presents hurdles for people who struggle with their lying and challenges for practitioners who encounter these individuals. Our work has provided theoretical and empirical support for its existence of pathological lying as a distinct diagnostic entity. Our webinar provides a framework for understanding pathological lying and recommendations for practitioners and researchers.
Learning objectives
- Explain the need to consider pathological lying as a diagnostic entity.
- Define and discuss pathological lying by providing theory and research.
- Provide recommendations and considerations for practitioners and researchers.
