Description
Social determinants of mental health are largely responsible for race-based and other forms of mental health disparities. These inequities shape clinical presentations, clinician-patient interactions, and the course of treatment efficacy. The purpose of this webinar is to look beyond the clinical interaction and shift attention to environmental, historical, structural, sociopolitical, and economic conditions that impact the mental health outcomes of people of color. Case examples will be utilized to demonstrate how to center the patient’s frame of reference and apply a social determinants of mental health framework in case conceptualization and treatment.
This program is part of the Professional Development Training Institute Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion series.
