JARS as a teaching tool: Helping students think and write like scholars
May 2026
The APA Style Journal Article Reporting Standards (JARS) are a useful resource for anyone working with research. Traditionally meant as a guide for manuscript authors and editors, the standards have also proven valuable for instructors and students.
University of the Cumberlands faculty and JARS experts, LoriAnn Stretch, PhD, and Jayna Bonfini, PhD, share practical strategies for integrating APA Style JARS into assignments, instruction, and feedback.
View our webinar to learn how JARS can help students:
clarify the reasoning behind their research
communicate their work effectively and responsibly
prepare for research labs and graduate work
understand the importance of transparency and inclusive reporting
For information on how to use APA Style JARS as an author, check out our webinar featuring experts Heidi Levitt, PhD, and Arthur Nezu, PhD.
