The State of Reproductive Health

On Wednesday, June 8, 2022, the APA Women’s Portfolio and APA Advocacy, in collaboration with the APA Committee on Women in Psychology, the APA Women’s Caucus of Council, and the Division 35, Society for the Psychology of Women, hosted a briefing featuring the Guttmacher Institute, a leading research and policy organization committed to advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights worldwide. Guttmacher’s vice president for Public Policy Heather Boonstra provided an overview and analysis of state-level policies, followed by a facilitated conversation with psychologists Candice Hargons, PhD, and Carolyn West, PhD, on the mental health impacts, stigma, and the increased risk of violence for individuals and their families.
