Description
This article discusses how distinct from depression, prolonged grief is marked by a pervasive yearning for a deceased loved one and is most common among people who have lost a child or a romantic partner. Now, research has validated the diagnostic criteria for the disorder, and psychologists and other mental health experts are developing evidence-based treatments to help those whose mourning interferes with the activities of living.
