Automated Video Interviews
August 2021
Technology is becoming a core part of many psychological testing and assessment practices in various contexts (education, workplace, clinical, forensic), innovating ways in which data are collected, analyzed, and interpreted. While such innovations offer exciting possibilities for psychological research and practices, they also pose several new challenges associated with validity, reliability, and fairness/bias as well as with ethical and practical concerns.
This video focuses on automated video interviews. Two experts answer the following questions:
- What types of information can be gathered from video interviews that might be useful for psychological measurement?
- Automated video interviews have been heavily criticized for potential issues of bias and fairness. Can you share your thoughts about this?
- Are there any risks/downsides of this type of technology? Any policy implications?
This program does not offer CE credit.
