Recent high-profile violent events targeting black individuals, particularly men, have illustrated the complex constellation of issues at hand (e.g., implicit bias, trauma, structural barriers to change, etc.) and the roles that psychology needs to play in them. In this town hall, APA members share ideas, questions, and thoughts as they map out the association’s short- and longer-term work around the racism pandemic that is devastating the nation.
Hosts for the town hall, which took place June 4, 2020, are 2020 APA President Sandra L. Shullman, PhD, President-elect Jennifer F. Kelly, PhD, ABPP, Past-president Rosie Phillips Davis, PhD, ABPP, and APA CEO Arthur C. Evans Jr., PhD.
