Troubleshooting
I never received an email confirming my registration.
Be sure to check your spam and junk filters in case the email got swept up. If you cannot find it, you can register again. Contact Member Support or call the Locator Tech Support line ((800) 374-2721, ext. 7576) for help.
I got an email saying I’m not a member of APA and therefore ineligible for the Psychologist Locator.
The most common reason this happens is that members register for the Locator using an email different from the one that is associated with their APA account. Another reason is that a membership is expired. If you’re certain that neither of these scenarios applies to you, contact Member Support or call the Locator Tech Support line (800-374-2721, ext. 7576) for help.
I’ve published my profile, but when I search for my name, my listing doesn’t appear.
The Locator search function requires that, in addition to your name, you provide your city and state or ZIP code in order for your listing to appear.
I can’t get my photo to upload.
Be sure that your photo fits the dimension and size requirements: no larger than 200x200 pixels or 2MB. Here is an example of the dimensions:
Using or converting to a .GIF file — which is specifically for use on the internet — will usually ensure that your photo will be within the required size.
If you are not sure of the dimensions or size of your photo, select the photo file on your computer and then view its properties. The information you need should be there. If you need to resize, most computers have a built-in photo program that allows you to reduce the size.
