Every Tuesday night, Chris Blazina, PhD, takes to the Internet waves with his talk show, “The Secret Lives of Men,” which focuses on the complexities men face in their lives.

Blazina began the program early last year for men and women who want expert opinions on masculinity. Blazina's show covers such topics as men's reluctance to seek mental health help, stay-at-home dads and the belief that men should not be emotional.

The half-hour show brings research, academic and mental health approaches to understanding men and masculinity. He also interviews a wide array of experts. Recent guests include Ryan McKelly, PhD, a University of Wisconsin, La Crosse, psychology professor who studies why men can be reluctant to seek psychological help, and APA Past President Ronald F. Levant, EdD, an expert on men's issues. Episodes can be downloaded for free on iTunes.

“Many men face stereotypes of toughness and emotional invulnerability that simply aren't realistic,” says Blazina. “Men's lives are more complicated than that.”
