APA to launch journal with APAGS

In partnership with the American Psychological Association of Graduate Students, APA will launch Translational Issues in Psychological Science this spring. Each issue of the quarterly journal will focus on a single important, timely or controversial theme of broad interest to scientists, practitioners and the general public. Editor Mary Beth Kenkel, PhD, of the Florida Institute of Technology, says the journal is unique because it requires senior scientists and student scientists to collaborate on both writing and editing.

APA publishes Behavioral Development Bulletin

APA will begin publishing Behavioral Development Bulletin in April. The journal, previously published by Behavior Analyst Online, covers research in cognitive and emotional development, developmental theory, socialization, education and speech-language pathology. It explores factors such as reinforcement and environment that influence behavioral development and behavior change.

The journal's editors, Michael Lamport Commons, PhD, of Harvard University, and Martha Pelaez, PhD, of Florida International University, say BDB's goals are to understand human development in behavioral terms, to inform developmental psychologists about new approaches in the field, and to publish articles about educational, clinical and other interventions that stimulate development.
