  • "Achieving Health Equity: Tools for a National Campaign against Racism," with Camara Phyllis Jones, MD, MPH, PhD, president of the American Public Health Association, and a senior fellow at the Satcher Health Leadership Institute and the Cardiovascular Research Institute, Morehouse School of Medicine. This session will provide tools to enable attendees to name racism, ask "How is racism operating here?" and organize and strategize to act.
  • "APA's Unignorable Moment: How Can Big Trouble Lead to a Great Future?" Malachi O'Connor, PhD, will give an anthropological description of APA in light of the Independent Review released last summer.
  • "Evaluating Interprofessionalism: Development and Use of an Interprofessional Measure." The Interprofessional Professionalism Collaborative, a group representing 13 health professions, will describe how it developed and validated a measure to rate students' professionalism when interacting with other health professionals. The event will be chaired by Catherine Grus, PhD, of APA's Education Directorate. Participants are Loretta M. Nunez and Luke Mortensen, PhD.
  • "Working With Economic Immigrant Populations in Integrated Primary Care: Worsening Problems, Expanding Solutions." Economic immigrants in the United States face myriad difficulties and require new and different models of care. This panel will discuss immigration policy and present two multilevel models of innovation in working with this vulnerable population. Participants include Hanna Siegel, Tillman Farley, MD, and Celia J. Falicov, PhD.
  • "Providing Refugee Mental Health Care: Meeting Complex Needs," will address refugee mental health and psychosocial support services, presenting global best practices and resilience-based multilevel systemic approaches with individuals, families, and communities uprooted by humanitarian crises. The session is chaired by Froma Walsh, PhD. Participants are Jack Saul, PhD, and Claire M. Whitney.
  • "Healthy People, Healthy Planet: Why and How Psychology Should Be Involved With Climate Change," a panel discussion on the implications of climate change for well-being. The panel, chaired by Susan D. Clayton, PhD, will make suggestions to expand the involvement of psychologists. The other participants are Andrew Stern, MD, and Julia B. Hill.
  • "Moving Upward and Onward: Addressing Challenges and Advancing Pediatric Integrated Care." This symposium will highlight the current status of integrated pediatric primary care and the collaborative steps that need to be taken for further advancement within the field.
