APA is launching a revitalized Monitor on Psychology, debuting with the September issue. In addition to giving the magazine a fresh look, we have made several editorial changes in response to feedback we received from the APA member community.
Overall, you told us you want more "how to" articles that showcase new approaches to your work as well as more career information.
We've also made another important change: Our graduate student members have told us that they want their concerns covered in the pages of the Monitor. As a result, we will no longer publish gradPSYCH magazine (which only went to student members) and instead will feature graduate student content in the Monitor. The result is a stronger, more unified publication that better reflects the entire field for all APA members.
"Having the magazines combined helps to break down some real or perceived barriers among students, early career psychologists and psychologists who have had their doctoral degrees for a while," says Christine Jehu, PhD, chair of the American Psychological Association of Graduate Students. "The new magazine offers a rich experience for all of us to learn and grow from and with each other."
