Illinois has become the seventh state to enact the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT), which allows licensed psychologists to offer telepsychology services in participating states without needing to be licensed in those states.
Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Nebraska and Missouri adopted PSYPACT between 2016 and 2018. The Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB), the organization that developed PSYPACT, is optimistic that eight to 10 more states will introduce PSYPACT in the next legislative session, which could lead the compact to become operational before 2020. —Amy Novotney
