In its final report, the group agreed that its goals should be to:

  • Foster the mental health and well-being of people everywhere who experience same-sex sexual expression, attraction, orientation and identity.

  • Recognize the universality of same-sex attractions and behavior.

  • Increase societies' understanding of LGB communities and their variety of lifestyles.

The statement also includes recommendations for specific ways to:

  • Implement LGB-affirmative care on a global level.
