The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery reports Americans underwent 11.9 million cosmetic procedures in 2004--a 44 percent increase from 2003. Surgical procedures, which include liposuction and breast augmentation, increased by 17 percent, while nonsurgical procedures--including Botox and laser hair removal--increased by 51 percent.
