WASHINGTON, DC — July 11, 2009 — The American Psychological Association (APA) announced today the release of APA Books E-Collections, a new way for institutions to purchase, own, and provide access to APA scholarly and professional book content. APA Books E-Collections also offer the first in-year availability of APA's current copyright year book content in electronic format.
APA Books E-Collections comprise individual annual compilations of APA-published scholarly and professional book content grouped by copyright year, and are available for years 2001 through 2009. Coverage includes all APA scholarly and professional books with the exception of APA Style® products, Magination Press children's titles, APA LifeTools trade book titles, encyclopedias, and other reference publications. All APA Books E-Collections provide electronic access to the full-text of each book and are delivered on APA PsycNET®, APA's proprietary search platform.
"We are very pleased to offer this exciting new approach to institutional ownership of APA's book content," stated Gary VandenBos, APA Publisher. He continued, "APA now provides a choice of access models for electronic access to APA scholarly and professional books, enabling institutions the flexibility to choose the best model for their specific needs."
APA Books E-Collections will be highlighted at APA booth #5034 at the American Library Association Meeting in Chicago, IL July 11–14.
