Psychology of Consciousness: Theory, Research, and Practice is a publication of APA Division 30 (Society of Psychological Hypnosis), and is a cross-disciplinary journal centered on the study of consciousness and all relevant areas of psychology (e.g., experimental, clinical, social, cognitive, and phenomenological), as well as the neurosciences and other relevant disciplines. The publication is indexed in Web of Science, SCOPUS, and APA PsycInfo, among others.
The editorial team of Psychology of Consciousness invites submissions for consideration in the journal.
The journal publishes content in the following areas:
- Sensory/perceptual processes
- Nonconscious processes
- States of consciousness such as daydreaming/fantasy, sleep stages and dreaming, and techniques such as hypnosis, meditation, psychedelics, etc.
- Anomalous experiences such as near-death experiences (NDEs), transcendent experiences, etc.
- Cross-cultural, cultural, and Indigenous perspectives on consciousness
Psychology of Consciousness is seeking empirical, theoretical, and review papers that advance our understanding of these topics.
