This special issue of Consulting Psychology Journal focuses on an emerging niche area of consulting psychology: assisting elite performers, those at the highest levels of their specialized area of human endeavor, to maximize their performance and perhaps become the best of the best.
The articles in this special issue provide a view into psychological coaching with five distinct perspectives deriving from five different types of elite performers: CEOs in the world's most influential organizations, Olympic athletes, top-level performance artists, military special-operations personnel, and surgeons and emergency-room physicians, whose performance literally has life-or-death consequences.
